Welcome to Reading for All!

What We Do

"Reading for All" is a literacy initiative in Marion, Polk and Yamhill Counties to support student success; a necessary component for lifelong success. When all students learn to read and see the adults around them reading, they will be more likely to develop the kind of critical thinking that will help them to stay in school, succeed in life, and contribute positively to the community.

"Reading for All" engages the diverse communities within each county in efforts that support literacy and is part of the continuum of efforts to support children, youth and families.

All students need the opportunity to succeed in their efforts to learn. Students need adult mentors who are willing to build supportive relationships with them and encourage them to achieve. Project components include early literacy, family commitment to reading, and school/family/community partnering. The ultimate objective is to engage all communities in promoting student success.
