Welcome to Reading for All!

Get Involved! - You

Volunteer

There are many ways to support positive reading and literacy for area kids and families. When you contact the United Way’s Volunteer and Mentor Center you’ll find many examples of ways that you can contribute. Each opportunity has its own rewards, and your contributions will be greatly appreciated.

See some of the opportunities listed to advance reading and literacy in the county.

Attend Reading for All’s twice monthly book sort at Marion-Polk Food Share. Volunteers are needed to sort and label books. A bibliophile’s dream opportunity! Volunteers meet at the Food Share (1660 Salem Industrial Drive NE, Salem 97301) every 1st and 3rd Thursday, from 9:30 to noon.

Make a presentation to groups with which you’re involved! We’ll supply everything you need to know + materials.

Quick Tips:

  • Read aloud to each other and your pets.
  • Turn off the TV, put away the video games, and head to the library!
  • Donate new or gently used books for re- distribution to another family.
  • Talk to friends & family about literacy.
  • Are you a grant writer? We'd like to hear from you!
